Tour overview
Explorers Expedition is designed for travellers who want to go beyond the city of Chiang Mai and experience jungle trails, waterfalls and authentic village life over two days.
You travel with a local English-speaking guide, sleep in a simple hilltribe homestay and enjoy bamboo rafting on the river before returning to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon of Day 2.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1 Jungle trails & hilltribe village
08:00 – Pick-up in Chiang Mai
Transfer from your hotel towards the edge of a nearby national park (e.g. Doi Inthanon or a similar area).
10:00 – Start of the trek
Guided trek through the jungle, with a stop at a small hidden waterfall for a break and photos.
13:00 – Picnic lunch in the jungle
Simple lunch (included) prepared with local ingredients.
16:00 – Arrival in hilltribe village
Arrival in a Karen or Lahu village, time to settle into your homestay and meet the hosts.
19:00 – Traditional dinner & evening
Dinner cooked by your hosts (included) and a relaxed evening in the village. Overnight in simple homestay accommodation.
Day 2 Bamboo rafting & return
08:00 – Breakfast & farewell
Breakfast in the village (included) and check-out from the homestay.
10:00 – Bamboo rafting
Relaxing bamboo raft trip along the river, taking in the jungle scenery from the water.
13:00 – Lunch at local restaurant
Included lunch near the main road.
14:30 – Drive back to Chiang Mai
Return transfer to the city.
17:00 – Arrival at your hotel
Estimated drop-off time at your hotel in Chiang Mai (depending on traffic).
