Tour overview
“Amphawa Extended Tour” is a long full-day programme that takes you from Bangkok or Pattaya towards the province of Samut Songkhram. You visit the colourful Damnoen Saduak floating market, experience the unique Maeklong railway market where the train passes right through the stalls, continue to the surreal Dragon Temple (Wat Samphran) and finish at Amphawa floating market with an evening boat trip to see fireflies along the canals.
Day itinerary
Departure from Bangkok / Pattaya
Pick-up from your hotel and drive by minivan towards the market area in Samut Songkhram province.
Damnoen Saduak floating market
Visit the most famous floating market, with a boat ride along the canals packed with stalls, fruit boats and Thai street food.
Maeklong railway market
Stop at the spectacular railway market where the train passes just centimetres from the stalls – time for photos and a bit of shopping.
Dragon Temple – Wat Samphran
Visit the unusual pink tower temple wrapped by a giant dragon; time for photos and a short walk around the temple grounds.
Arrival at Amphawa Floating Market
Continue to Amphawa and stroll along the canal-side stalls selling seafood, desserts and local souvenirs.
Free time & evening atmosphere
Free time to choose your own dinner, cross the small bridges and soak up the evening atmosphere of the market.
Fireflies boat trip
Board a traditional boat to see the fireflies lighting up the trees along the canals around Amphawa.
Return to the hotel
Depart Amphawa and drive back towards Bangkok or Pattaya; late evening arrival depending on traffic.
