Tour overview
Above the Clouds is a 2-day / 1-night tour that takes you from Bangkok or Pattaya to a mountainous corner of the Isan region, known for cool air, rolling hills and early-morning cloud formations that often sit like a white sea below the viewpoints.
Along the way you will enjoy scenic roads, a night in a local hotel on the plateau and visits to hilltop temples and viewpoints with panoramic views over the valleys.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 Ascent into the Clouds & Scenic Highlands
07:00 – Departure from Bangkok / Pattaya
Comfortable long transfer towards the mountainous province of Isan.
12:00 – Traditional Thai Lunch
Stop at a local restaurant on the way (included).
15:00 – Wat Pha Sorn Kaew (Glass Mountain Temple)
Visit the famous hilltop temple with five white Buddha statues, colourful porcelain mosaics and panoramic views.
18:00 – Check-in & Dinner
Check-in at a mountain resort/hotel. Local dinner included and time to rest before the sunrise experience.
Day 2 Storybook Sunrise & Return
05:30 – Sunrise “Sea of Mist”
Drive up to a viewpoint (e.g. Phu Thap Buek or a similar spot) to admire the famous “Sea of Clouds” above the valleys, if weather conditions allow.
08:00 – Breakfast & Check-out
Breakfast at the hotel (included) and check-out.
10:00 – Summer Palace (Pha Nam Thip)
Visit a royal-style mountain complex with lush gardens and distinctive architecture, often used as a summer retreat.
12:30 – Lunch & Departure
Final included lunch before starting the drive back.
19:00 – Arrival in Bangkok / Pattaya
Estimated arrival time at your hotel or final drop-off point, depending on traffic.
